Wednesday Meeting, 2017 05 10

The meeting started at 14:10, after the PhD student talks. James left for a while between 14:25 and 14:50, and we spoke about plans after he returned.
Chris recently gave his PhD review talk, so has been working on that. He has also been creating an algorithm to find a finite E-unitary cover of any finite inverse semigroup, which he has been doing this afternoon.
After discovering a Heisenbug in his fp monoid congruence code, Michael has spent some time trying to fix it. Having recently managed this, he is going to spend this afternoon getting it merged in, subject to approval. He is then going to look at the libsemigroups Python bindings. His new TV is running beautifully.
James is currently trying to fix Valgrind errors in libsemigroups. These may be causing problems in the Semigroups packages. He has also recently been working on Python bindings for libsemigroups.
Wilf will spend this afternoon reviewing pull requests and issues, hopefully including merging Michael's long-standing fp semigroups PR.
Fernando has been writing slides for his upcoming PhD review talk, and will continue to work on it this afternoon. He has recently been working on the new aaa package with Collin, which is now available on Github.
We all went about our planned activities, and Michael's PR was merged. After merging, this exposed what appears to be a Heisenbug in libsemigroups. James is valgrinding libsemigroups to try to identify the issue.
James left at 17:00 to get his eyes checked. Michael left at 17:50, and the meeting ended soon afterwards.
