In order to complete the Analytical Test Results (Level 3) form, it is necessary that all the required fields in the Sample Level Data form are populated. If that is the case, the Data check field shows the message Add tests details). To open the form, right click on the selected record and click the option Open analytical results form. If running the TSE tool version 1.2.4 or greater, just double click on the record of interest.

The tool automatically creates a row for each diagnostic test which might have been executed, according to the testing schemes and the Preferences set up.

The user is warned to carefully check predefined results to ensure that the list reflects the real sequence of tests executed on the samples.

On the top of the form, the tool shows the information related to the sample.

The user can delete records by right-clicking on them and choosing the option Delete records.

To add new records, click on the New row button.

It is also possible to add rows (diagnostic tests) for samples which have been assessed as Negative.

In order to complete “Analytical Test results” data (level 3) reporting countries need to populate a number of fields, as follows:

  • Res ID*: the result ID of the specific record is automatically assigned by the tool. Please note that this field is editable. It shall contain the unique ID assigned to the test at country level (if available)

  • Test type*: the type of the test conducted. The following available options are configured in Preferences, but are editable:

    • Screening
    • Confirmatory
    • Discriminatory (applicable only to BSE and scrapie since TSE tool version 2.0.0)
    • Isolate characterisation (added since TSE tool version 2.0.0, applicable only to CWD)
    • Molecular characterisation/genotyping (applicable only to sheep/goats)
  • Test*: prepopulated with the test selected in the Preferences for the combination of Test type and Submission type, but editable in case a different test has been used (drop-down menu).

  • Test Result~, the final result of the test. The available options are:

    • positive
    • negative
  • Year of analysis*: the year of execution of the test

  • Allele 1~: the polymorphisms at codons 136, 146, 154 and 171 of the PRNP gene for sheep and (since TSE tool version 2.0.0) at codons 146 and 222 of the PRNP gene for goats that compose half of the genotype. Please note that these fields, regard only sheep and goat (SCRAPIE cases).

Genotype reporting is mandatory for all scrapie cases (sheep and goats) since the 2021 TSE data collection.

The available options for sheep are:

    • AXRR
    • ALRR
    • AFRR
    • AXRQ
    • AFRQ
    • ALRQ
    • AXRH
    • AFRH
    • ALRH
    • AXHQ
    • AFHQ
    • ALHQ
    • VXRQ
    • VLRQ
    • VFRQ
    • ZZZZ

The option "ZZZZ" should be used in case the genotype could not be determined or was different from the available options.

The available options for goats are:

    • NK
    • SK
    • DK
    • NQ
    • SQ
    • DQ
    • ZK
    • ZQ
    • NZ
    • SZ
    • DZ
    • ZZ

The options ZK, ZQ, NZ, SZ, DZ should be used when one of the two codons could not be determined. The option ZZ should be used in case the genotype could not be determined or was different from the available options.

  • Allele 2~: the polymorphisms at codons 136, 146, 154 and 171 of the PRNP gene for sheep and (since TSE tool version 2.0.0) at codons 146 and 222 of the PRNP gene for goats that compose half of the genotype. The available options are the same as in Allele 1~,

Genotype reporting is mandatory for all scrapie cases (sheep and goats) since the 2021 TSE data collection.

Once completed, close the "Analytical test results" form and go back to "Aggregated data" form.
