Hi there 😎 Thanks for coming !!

I go by @hugsy in the interwebz, and am an infosec researcher with an offensive mindset who love Open Source software: I have learned what I know today thanks other people's decision to make their work open (through FOSS projects, reverse engineering components, documentation, etc.). That's why I am always happy to share my humble contributions in the hope that they will be useful to someone else.

In 2012, while I was bored I decided to learn ARM assembly and exploitation. This was the beginning of building my most popular tool (to date 😊) GEF which is now used by hackers, researchers, devs, teachers and students from a little everywhere in the world, which is incredibly humbling and exciting.

On the other hand, as projects grow bigger, actively maintaining them becomes harder and longer : adding new features, removing obsolete ones, writing/updating documentation, create unit and regression tests and much more. I try my best to provide tools and libraries that are both easy-to-use so that learners jump on them quickly, but thorough too, so that experts can still benefit from them.

So that's where you can come in and help! If any of my software helped you save time and money, this GitHub Sponsorship was set up to allow me to reinject all funds entirely to my projects, to either allow me to work more on existing projects. Among many of things that includes:

  • make the projects more exciting - contract UI designers for my project logos, publish more live tutorials, have some swag (maybe?)
  • keep the existing VPS that I rent for hosting demos (such as gef-live or ctfpad)
  • (hopefully) buy code-signing certificate
  • buy some hardware to improve GEF's compatibility, among other ideas:
  • or even just take one day-off from work to dedicate myself entirely to upgrade one project feature.

Thank you for reading ♥

@hugsy

With this goal, I can dedicate some time to work full time on projects (at least one full day a month). This time would allow me to create new live content to better demonstrate some of the advanced capabilities of GEF, and also host a live streaming session to live demo features, and/or take questions.
