save-for-later

Or sfl for short.

The goal of this project is, other than taking the chance to learn a few new things, to create a program to keep a personal catalogue of things to “consume” (be they videos, books, podcasts, &c) distributed between some trusted nodes.

Often it happens to me that I want to watch/read something, but not always on the device I have the thing on; or sometimes I don’t have internet but I don’t have the thing downloaded either. So what ends up happening is that I either redownload the thing (if I have internet); or worse, don’t watch/read the thing!

To solve this, the plan is to store things that I want to watch/read later somewhere online “at all times”, and keep a distributed DB between the nodes to save the actual catalogue. When the time comes that I want to watch/read the thing, as long as it’s either pinned on the device I’m on, or I have internet and at least one of my other nodes up, I can! The storage will be IPFS and the distributed DB will be rqlite.
