Recently most the issues seem like peoples seem like struggling usage of this gem. Because gem it is kind of involving web application and same time it's not actually properly handling states change states based on SP metadata etc.
For this situation either we keep trying to support web application or stick with the SAML 2.0 plain protocol.
But "web applications" means there are lot of frameworks already exist and each of them has own strategy to work with gems and manage states. For this reason we need to split gem to 2 sections "core" (saml 2.0 protocol) gem and "framework".
