The Third Element

The Idea

While being inspired to create an RPG game, I decided to use similar concepts found in other popular games such as Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda to create "The Third Element".

Overview

The Third Element is a small scale RPG game written in Python3 for the ICS3U final project. When playing this game, you take on the role of the character Sylon, the last remaining wizard in the land of Oslax. Your goal is to collect all the 3 gems (earth, water and fire) to restore the fate of the people of Oslax. Along the way you will collect items, earn money and fight many creatures.

Setup

Install the pygame module for python3.

Run the main.py file.

Cheats / Hints

Some tips that will help you throughout the game.

Tip Usage
Speed Purchase the boots of Hermes from the shop to move around faster.
Water World Boss When fighting the boss, ensure that you have close to or full health.
Max health Visit the Grand Church of Oslax to pray and restore your health.
Rewards If you are in need of health or money urgently, visit Blackbeard's Castle.

Conclusion

I had a fun time working on this project but I do not plan to continue development on it.

So if you find any bugs or have other ideas, feel free to contribute!

Note

Pygame is not well supported on mac, so when using a mac, the fighting is glitchy and the sound is disabled.
