Note: depending on the location (connection) you are in, it might not work. The current places that we know the connection work are McConnel and Otto maass. [We are working on finding a way to bypass this]
Assuming you are at one of the above locations, just do the following steps:
- Go to the unity website https://unity.com/download (it doesn't say ubuntu 20.04 on the OS requirements but it does work).
- Click on the "DOWNLOAD FOR LINUX" button.
- Go to the installation commands website https://docs.unity3d.com/hub/manual/InstallHub.html#install-hub-linux
- Go to the "Install the Unity Hub on Linux - Debian or Ubuntu" section and copy paste the commands.
- Once it finishes installing, there should be an app on your ubuntu. Open it.
- Create an account or login if you already have one.
- Go to the install section on the app, and install the editor (the version doesn't really matter, dw)
- [Assuming that you already have the unity sim repo cloned] Go to projects - select Open Projects - find the unity sim repo and open it.
- It's going to prompt you to install some stuff; just keep clicking the accept button at the bottom (don't change any of the options suggested)
- The auv-sim-unity should be on the projects section.
