Zway-RandomDevice

Randomly turn on/off devices to simulate presence. This module will ensure that only one device is triggered at a time, and that the triggered device is properly turned off once the random virtual device is turned off.

This module works well with the ConditionSwitch module that can be used to turn of random devices based on presence mode and time.

Configuration

timeFrom, timeTo:

Sets the bounds for random device on times in minutes

probability:

Sets the probability that a random devices will be turned on

devices:

List of devices that should be controlled randomly

Virtual Devices

This module creates a virtual binary switch device to turn on/off the random device controller. Current operation mode (random light triggered, on, off) is indicated by the icon color. metrics:triggered stores if currently a device is triggered by the random device.

Events

light.off

Emits an event whenever a light is switched off. ie. Allows other lights such as motion triggers, to act immediately after random lights have been switched off.

Installation

The prefered way of installing this module is via the "Zwave.me App Store" available in 2.2.0 and higher. For stable module releases no access token is required. If you want to test the latest pre-releases use 'k1_beta' as app store access token.

For developers and users of older Zway versions installation via git is recommended.

cd /opt/z-way-server/automation/userModules
git clone https://github.com/maros/Zway-RandomDevice.git RandomDevice --branch latest

To update or install a specific version

cd /opt/z-way-server/automation/userModules/RandomDevice
git fetch --tags
# For latest released version
git checkout tags/latest
# For a specific version
git checkout tags/1.02
# For development version
git checkout -b master --track origin/master
