I decided to make it look a bit more modern with my design proposals for the new versions.

You are free to modify it how you please.

I also have the raw PSD files:

Since I just saw that there finally is a repository and this PR for cosmetic changes I would like to add what I did a while ago.
I already sent those to the developer a while back but never heard anything about it.
There were some threads in the forum like mine (https://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=23751).
So if there is the time to look at the UI you can take my approaches into account.
My thought was to replace every icon with SVGs.

Thank you very much for your contribution.
Unfortunately I cannot just merge it as it is, and not just because someone may prefer the "old" icons and therefore this should be made a preference, but also because I'm working to port it to Chromium, which doesn't support SVG icons.
Therefore this "alternate" icons set must be both optional and automatically disabled where not supported.
I'll be glad to add it, eventually, though, when I (or some other contributor) can submit a patch satisfying both these requirements.
