Mount samba shares behind VPN in docker

This demo can be run with docker

It contains two important services:

  • vpn - this is a service responsible of connecting to the VPN
  • jumper - this is the machine that mounts the local share behind the vpn

In order to test it, please copy .env.example to .env and assign the correct values to the variables

Currently the demo requires the following variables:


VPN_SERVER=EXAMPLE_VPN_SERVER                                           # This is the VPN server URL
VPN_USER=EXAMPLE_VPN_USER                                               # This is the VPN user
VPN_PASSWORD=EXAMPLE_VPN_PASSWORD                                       # This is the VPN user password
VPN_GROUP=EXAMPLE_VPN_GROUP                                             # The group that the VPN user belongs to
VPN_CERT_HASH=EXAMPLE_VPN_CERT_HASH                                     # Certificate hash to be trusted by openconnect

NETWORK_SHARE_HOST=EXAMPLE_NETWORK_SHARE_HOST                           # Network share (behind vpn) host, alias or IP
NETWORK_SHARE_DIRECTORY=EXAMPLE_NETWORK_SHARE_DIRECTORY                 # Network share (behind vpn) folder
NETWORK_SHARE_PASSWORD=EXAMPLE_NETWORK_SHARE_PASSWORD                   # Password for the network share - it can be the same as the vpn user password
NETWORK_SHARE_USER=EXAMPLE_NETWORK_SHARE_USER                           # User for the network share - it can be the same as the vpn user
NETWORK_SHARE_DOMAIN=EXAMPLE_NETWORK_SHARE_DOMAIN                       # Domain of the samba share - it can be the same as the vpn group
