Getting Started

To run CuriousDog locally or deploy it to a server, follow these steps:

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine:
  • git clone https://github.com/baarayy/curiousDog.git.
  1. Install the required dependencies:
  • open a new terminal.
  • cd CuriousDog.
  • Write npm install.
  1. Configure the environment variables:
  • Create a .env file in the root directory and add the following variables:

    • makefile
    • Copy code
    • PORT=3030
    • DATABASE=your-mongodb-uri
    • SECRET=your-secret-key
    • PASSWORD= your-mongodb-user-password
    • Replace your-mongodb-uri and your-secret-key with your MongoDB connection string and a secret key for JWT token generation.
  1. Start the server:
  • Open terminal.
  • Write npm start.
  • Open your web browser and access the application at http://localhost:3030.
