probably to invasive. Decision to separate W coords was made in 2004.

outstanding issues:

  • vertex morph SIMD assumes packed xyz destination
  • PlayPen_StencilShadowsMixedOpSubMeshes crashes

instead of splitting W into separate buffer. Works on D3D9 as well for me.
Adapt support code to work with 4D positions.
