  • Bridge over tombstone canyon from South is eroding and needs repair.
  • Replaced tracks on TomCat

  • Water line between Dam & Cistern subject to freezing, bury under soil for added insulation - either with trench or build up a terrace
  • Cut firewood supply
    • Felled noble fir above swamp: cut into rounds and stack to season.
    • Felled trees near diesel hut: cut, split and stacked near lodge

Michael Moreland

  • Thing PEX tubing buckles under snow load, change to EMT tubing of similar diameter
  • Shipping containers for storage #8
  • Ski Hill trench for comms & power #15
  • Staircase Fire Door – new counter-weight installed with spring-arrest and turnbuckle adjustment (for future maintenance) so door centers on frame opening.
  • Extending conduit for electro-magnetic release.
  • Jim’s Den – conduit work for fire-alarm system and emergency lighting.
  • Emergency Lighting moved in Entrance Hall for new glove dryer.
  • First Aid Room – north wall cleared for new control centre
  • Committee Dorm – strobe with delay timer added to emergency lighting for furnace power-outage protection

  • Mach Tow Routing Jigs labelling currently stored loose in Tow Hut Attic, attach proper (metal or laminated) labels to jigs so future Meanities know WTF they are looking at

  • Super Worm wheel got split - needs re-gluing.

  • Quarter Pole, replace, fabricate the missing broken off tie off metal hooks for rope
  • Quarter Pole and Mid Tower, inspect and replace pullies, they are 20 years old
  • Ski Hill
    • Need new required safety signs
  • Dam
    • Water pipe inside dam failing, needs attention
    • consider adding mill pond liner to allow easier cleaning
    • design and install clean out valve
  • Turtle Tow
    • drill new hole in "I" beam to hold tow lower for low snow levels
    • design better belt holding system on drive belt

  • Design and install new propane powered generator for lodge

  • Brush 420 Rd, clean ditches, fill potholes
  • Mark trees on XC trails for removal, remove if time permits

  • Wash through at Skiers Pick-up, there is a culvert ~25-50ft from the washout (towards I-90) that probably needs to be cleaned out (UPDATE: culvert has some sediment, could use cleaning, but bigger problem is that its uphill from the 2-track that water was flowing down this winter. Regrading of that 2-track is needed) (Nov by Matt & Dave C)
  • Thoroughly clean kitchen and dining room floors (Aug 2nd)
  • Refinish the kitchen floor (Aug 3rd)

Beverly Setzer

  • Generator Hut needs shoring up, rotten support beam.
  • replacing screws on the stair treads from the family dorm

Annual Maintenance

Spring / Early Summer

  • Firewood - split and stack outdoors, so the summer warmth seasons it
  • Firewood - transported rounds from top 'o hill into "sunning positions."
  • Fire safety: remove all wood and wooden debris from a 20' perimeter around the lodge
  • Reader board on 420 road: transport up to the lodge
  • Wood stove: sweep the chimney (Aug 29)
  • carpenter ant control around the lodge

Summer / Fall

  • Fire Safety
    • Fire exit signs - replace batteries. Change north batteries on even years, south on odd years.
    • Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors - change batteries and test
    • Fire extinguishers - bring to town for annual inspection
    • Mow grass around lodge and on the hill
  • Kitchen:
    • stove/range annual maintenance
    • range hood
      • do a "first pass" cleaning of the range hood. Removed exhaust grills and cleaned off bulk gunk with flat edged spatula
      • purchase degreaser to remove more of the gunk in other areas
      • degrease the range hood
    • remind expired food workers to renew their cards
    • fridge
      • vacuum dust from coils
      • perform dryer maintenance & desiccant replacement
  • Generators
    • Zoo: test & run under load
    • Lodge: test & run under load
  • Water Bars - repair and trench out all existing water bars
    • on the 420 road
    • on lodge property
  • Snowmobiles - At each work party, idle the engines for a few minutes to charge the batteries.
  • Chip limbs from winter debris and firewood and spread chips on the XC trails

    • purchase diesel fuel: presently 17.5" of 46" tank. Gage reads 3/8, tank size is 1,000 gallons. From 0-100 gallons.

Late Fall

  • Rope Tows (all 3)
    • pulleys - grease all 3 of Jim's tows
    • Add 'Benite' to wheels to improve snow & ice shedding. Needs coordination to take the ropes off their respective pulleys/wheels.
  • Firewood - move seasoned wood into the wood shed
  • Generator gas cans: fill and place in generator hut for ready use during winter.
  • Torque thru bolts on idler and bull wheels
  • Inspect all wooden wheels for cracks and other defects
  • Mach
    • torque universal bolts on drive shaft
  • Water System
    • Dam - clean out
    • Change water filters, ask Phil
    • Clean silt out of dam reservoir

Prior to Mushroom weekend

  • Clean and empty the Zoo
  • Set up plywood tables atop sawhorses, as many as we can find
  • Clean the Lodge

Last work party

  • Hang all three ropes high, tied off with hooks to prevent blowing out of hooks
  • Hang Mach’s third extra rope hook at ¾ point in the trees
  • Hang Mach rope at top of hill at the safety gate
  • Tie up all three safety gate chains to tow rope to prevent them from becoming buried under several feet of snow
  • Clean and make ready for winter:
    • Cat House
    • Zoo
    • Basement
    • Propane hut
    • Tow Hut
  • Drain and run empty gas pole saws
  • Reader board on 420 road: transport to 420 entrance
