Wallpaperfy

Platform agnostic wallpaper maker, and wallpaper manager.
Turn any image into a viable wallpaper, without having to stretch, or zoom in and crop the images.
Blank spaces that would be there due to image not perfectly filing the screen is filled with parts of the image that is being wallpaperfied.

I always liked how plasma desktop from kde does wallpapers, but i can't always afford to install plasma on my computers, or simply don't want to. Turning each image manually into an wallpaper is time consuming, so i made wallpaperfy.
With this tool i can have wallpapers kde style but without having to install plasma desktop

Look this example:

Before Wallpaperfy

After Wallpaperfy

Work in progress

It's a work in progress, wallpaper manager still not working but it can batch convert a folder and its sub folders into wallpapers, and output it into another folder, no problem. tested on windows 10, linux and freebsd. i have yet to test it on any other os. if you want to test it and give me feed back feel free to do so

Requirements

Python 3 opencv-python a python package, on freebsd py[version number]-opencv IE py3.7-opencv numpy screeninfo another python package dataclasses another python package data classes and numpy should be automaticaly installed when installing opencv and screeninfo

install

Copy the contents of wallpaperfy folder to where you want to install. add this place to the PATH variable or make a simlink to Batch-converter from wherever is your PATH.

Running

run python wallpaperfy_batch_converter.py on a terminal and follow its instructions or run python wallpaperfy_wallpaper_manager.py to run the automatic background changer. it works on windows and in unix platforms that uses i3 wm. i have not tested on anything else. but might work on mac and other DE for unix like oses

command line arguments

you can pass these as arguments for wallpaperfy-batch-converter.py -r "1920 1080" or whattever is your screen resolution. to set the resolution of the wallpapers. or just use -r auto
-i "path to input folder" this is where the folder containing the images to be wallpaperfied is. it will also take all images in subfolder -o "path to output folder" this is the folder where the images being converted will be saved to wallpaperfy_wallpaper_manager.py can accept -r -i but also has its unique argument -t 'number' use a number that will set how many seconds it takes untill the wallpaper is changed.
