About this module:

This module was created for the Streamwatch project, based at the Australian Museum in Sydney, Australia. The module has been designed as a community science module for monitoring water quality in streams and lakes in Sydney and its immediate vicinity.

Authorship:

This module was co-developed by Gregory McDonald at the Australian Museum and Petra Janouchova at the FAIMS Project, Department of Ancient History, Macquarie University.

Funding:

Development of this module was funded by the Research Attraction and Acceleration Program (RAAP) NSW Department of Industry 16805/00 aimed to support innovation and investment in the New South Wales in 2016 and 2017.

This module is distributed under an international Creative Commons license (CC BY 4.0).

Access:

This module is part of the FAIMS Demo library on our publicly accessible Demo server (http://demo.fedarch.org/).

This module contains the following FAIMS features:

  • user sign-up (users can create their own accounts)
  • validated fields with user observations
  • controlled vocabularies
  • coordinates from internal GPS
  • attribute-level timestamps

This module can be used with no or minor modification for:

  • simple monitoring of water quality (Phosphate, Oxygen, Ecoli, Ph measuring ...)
  • longitudinal monitoring of sites (initial visit followed by revisits)
