Hi, my name is Elmer or "Mer" for short. Since the biginning of 2024 I have gained a lot of interest in the area of QA Testing in the software developement lifecycle. As someone who have been supporting businesses and corporations by building systems to efficiently handle company data to readable information for the last 5 years, I begged the question "How do I check if what I'm creating now properly works not jus in development but also in production?". Since then I have applied some of the this I have researched to my work.
With this portfolio, I would like to share the things I have learned and applied from the courses I have joined, the self-taught journey I have gone through and parts of my past work experience as an independent developer. I am determined and excited to grow in this field of IT
Testing Experience
Officially, I have less than a year of experience as a Software Tester in a commercial setting. My position was Software Tester I as part of the developement team and my main responsibilities being in the role are:
- Conduct test following test cases created by a QA lead.
- Report Bug/Issues found within the ongoing projects of the company using JIRA.
- Coordinate with the developers of test scenarios.
- Update outdated test cases of the existing documentation of a project.
Even though I had a short time as a hired Tester, having a background in web development and DevOps techniques allowed me to quickly pick up testing methodologies and techniques with litle needed training by the company during that time. I am also constantly learning Testing techniques and API Testing on my free time which I have samples below.
Collaboration Experience
With regards to working with a team, I am fairly comfortable both working remotely or on-site as this has been my working environment since 2019. I have communicated and collaborated both clients or colleagues using multiple modern forms of communication.
