Usage

  • Ensure that Git is installed on your PC and configured for committing.
  • Install the program from here along with sample images.
  • If you want to create your own pixel art, ensure you're using Photoshop or any image editing program. Edit empty_template.png in the samples folder.
  • Use Black or Transparent for the background and draw anything you want. You can use any color for your pixel art, but make sure the background is Black.
  • After saving the image, create a new repository on your GitHub account. Make sure you select "Create README file" and clone the repository to anywhere you want on your PC.
  • After that, launch PixelArtToCommitHistory.exe in the PixelArtToCommitHistory folder.
  • Select the year for which you want to create pixel art in the Git history.
  • Write the cloned Git repository path into the first input.
  • Write the path of your edited empty_template.png or any of sample pixel arts into the second input.
  • Then, if you think everything is fine, click the Commit button and wait for the progress to finish.
  • After that, simply press Push to push the repository to your GitHub account, and you're done.
