Welcome to the Bike Share Data Best Practices wiki!

As active cyclists and open data nurds, we want to ensure that NYC has the best possible bike share open data system. Use this wiki to aggregate bicycle open data best practices and bike share open data best practices.

Events and connect

Over the next few months, #BikeNYC community, BetaNYC, and NYU Rudin Center host a monthly hacknight to discuss projects, tools, and apps. Join us at meetup. In addtion to this repo/wiki, several CitiBike / bikeNYC hackers partisipate in a Google Group.

History

On 24 July 2013, Council Member Brad Lander introduced NYC's Bike Share Open Data Law, Int. No 1117-2013. This is a local law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the complication of Citi Bike usage data. If you have ideas on how to improve the Code, use the "code" repo to edit the bill and suggest edits to bill.
