How to get shellcheck linter to work in micro?

Hi,

I believe that micro has linter for shellcheck, however I can't figure out how to enable and use it. The 'help linter' command says:
The linter plugin also allows users to extend the supported filetypes. From inside another micro plugin, the function `linter.makeLinter` can be called to register a new filetype.
But this is cryptic to me. Do I need to make another plugin to activate shellcheck linter? If so then how? And also, why if shellcheck is already included?

But I still don't understand what to do to make it work. I made a wild guess that I need to create an init.lua file in my ~/.config/micro/ directory so I did it and this is what it contains:

function init()
    linter.removeLinter("shfmt")
    linter.makeLinter("shellcheck", "shell", "shellcheck", {"-f", "gcc", "%f"}, "%f:%l:%c:.+: %m")
end

But this seems to do nothing...

This PR seems to suggest that support for shellcheck has been merged.

If you have shellcheck available in your $PATH you should get hints from it without any further configuration when saving a .sh file (unless you have disabled the linter plugin with set linter off). You can also trigger the linter manually with lint command.

I created t.sh with exactly the same code as in your example.
running shellcheck -f gcc t.sh does output the expected note.
running lint in micro (launched without configuration this way: micro -config-dir /tmp) still does nothing. Also, I renamed init.lua to init.lua.bak already.
First I tried installing shellcheck from snap in order to get the newer version, and now I removed that and installed it from apt. Still no luck :(

Rebooted the machine, just in case - still nothing. P.s. don't know if that matters but the only thing that happens when I'm running the lint command is micro saying Saved t.sh

The machine is running Linux Mint btw. Strangely, on my other machine lint is working just fine. Now I'm questioning myself whether I installed micro from 2 different sources on these 2 machines... I'll try to re-install it on the problematic machine, from the github release.

Yes! This solved it. Turns out that on the Linux Mint machine, I had version 2.0.9, so probably installed from apt and forgot about it.
