It's able to open settings but can't change any backgrounds while it has been chosen in Muzei app. Neither In-app Background nor launcher background.

Can I get some more information please:

  • Are you located in China? Your Github profile has you in Japan, but your blog (which I'm enjoying) has me guessing you to be in China.

  • One UI 2.0 seems to be recently released. Do you have experience of the app working on previous versions of One UI?

I live in Japan now.

I didn’t try it on previous version of OneUI but I used to use it with MIUI 11 Global version based on Android 9.0( And I don’t have any other devices run Android 10 so I don’t know if this issue is caused by Google or Samsung( or myself).

What language do you have your device in?

I use device language to determine whether or not to use the SNI bypass; if device language is Chinese then the bypass will be activated.

I can see the SNI bypass potentially affecting your ability to connect to Pixiv's servers from within Japan, I have had a report of my app (a previous version) not working in Japan.

If this is the case I will work on a better heuristic for determining user location

System language is set to Japanese but these app’s settings shown as English. BTW English is set as my second language, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese list 3rd and 4th.

Do other Muzei wallpaper plugins work?

Thanks for your answers so far, I will investigate over this weekend

I tried bing for muzei, worked well.

And as I said before, I used to use this addon on a MIUI 11 Global. That phone’s system language is set to Traditional Chinese and it’s able to get pic from pixiv. So maybe not the SNI bypass’ fail if you activated it in Traditional Chinese.

Try this apk

https://github.com/yellowbluesky/PixivforMuzei3/releases/tag/2.4.5

It has been built against the noBypass branch, and it removes all code to do with bypassing

As you said so earlier, I don't think the SNI bypass has anything to do with your issues, so I suspect the apk attached won't help you.

It's likely an issue with OneUI. I can't offer any help at this time unfortunately, but I will continue to look for other reports and fixes

Thanks for doing a lot.

I tried series patterns and I think I find that where it crashed.
Maybe the problem is about r/w app's settings. Because I find that it can work only when I installed it and active it in muzei, without changing any settings. Once I open settings, even didn't change any thing, it will never work again(and "Next artwork" button in muzei's home page will be disappeared).

Hi there, I hope you are doing well.

If you are still interested in this app, I would suggest you try version 3.0.1, available here

This version has had some significant changes and improvements done to the UI, which may solve the issues you were having.
