Some tips

I'm from cuba, so my english is not so well.
I'm a fan of plus and google design so:
1- The dropdown (combobox) must change de style, like select2 but with the design of google
2- The radio buttons and checkboxes must by like google one plugin for that is ezMark
3- The file inputmust be only one button (i can give you the code if you like it)
In my personal opinion if you make the big changes more people can collaborate whith your ptoject (this project)

I now about dropdowns, radio button and chekboxes - in first step I only change Twitter Bootstrap CSS without changing default style. In future I want do a google design elements :)

Good for you, i respect and adminre your project really.
In my opinion you should use select2, is a great plugin for dropdowns. Good luck! I'll follow ypur project
