Two bugs in 3.1 and 3.2RC (3.1.0.90)

I'm using Windows 7 and 10.

1. The background color of the custom range in some syntaxes "overflows" in 3.1/3.2RC:
   (left: 3.0, right: 3.1)
   
2. If the single instance is set in 3.2RC and the program is open, trying to open files with double-click or context menu will fail with a new unresponsive process in the background.

Confirmed.
The first is a known issue and may be fixed after the incoming 3.2 release.
The second can be fixed soon, see also #215 .

Because 3.2 will be released soon, the version number is not increased to avoid frequent upgrade notifications.

Yes, the single instance is now working, thank you.
I also tested the XP/Vista build on Windows Server 2003 (straight from CD installation, no further updates), but sometimes the program hangs and closes itself when trying to reload files previously open on startup.

Another minor thing I notice is the font changed in the syntax highlight settings window:

I don't have a Windows XP/2003 environment at hand, will it be reproduced if you open the same content file with wxMEdit 3.2RC on Windows 7 or later? And do files with the same content always reproduce the problem?

Yes, the single instance is now working, thank you. I also tested the XP/Vista build on Windows Server 2003 (straight from CD installation, no further updates), but sometimes the program hangs and closes itself when trying to reload files previously open on startup.

Confirmed. This problem is also related to the version of the wxWidgets framework used, and I will fix it as soon as possible. I'm tracking this issue in #217 .

No, at least on Windows 7 (64bit) the XP/Vista build doesn't have the same hang/crash from reloading open files on startup. So far I can only reproduce the crash on Windows XP SP3 and Windows 2003 R2 SP2, not sure if it's because both are the base version from CD and without any follow-up fixes/updates.

No, at least on Windows 7 (64bit) the XP/Vista build doesn't have the same hang/crash from reloading open files on startup. I reproduced it under ReactOS and Windows XP, and it' fixed now.
The 3.2 release won't crash, I had uploaded the release packages and will enable upgrade detection this weekend.
