There was another issue like this, but it was closed even though it didn't work for me.
I am on firefox and using the brave search engine.
I tried to switch the search engine to google but it still wouldn't load.

Edit: I also tried 2 different OpenAI accounts. One connected with google and one with email.

I'm having the same problem. I am logged into ChatGPT and the link the extension provides opens right up in another tab. The extension seems to think I have a problem I don't.

I’m using Firefox. I can open ChatGPT just fine. There isn’t a Cloudflare check to pass. Just like the video.

I am using TreeStyleTabs customised for my setup. The setup for firefox can be downloaded at this Github

This seems to be an issue with people having 'sandboxed' tabs.
Privacy-oriented browsers, or extensions that add more privacy may be preventing the Cloudflare check to be accessed between tabs. So to ChatGPT / Cloudflare it looks like a completely fresh request everytime, and hence you would have to do this check everytime.

I disabled ad blocker and that didn't fix it.

Not sure if this is related, but I get this error on the chatgpt page:

There will also be a link for you to create your own APIKey ( https://platform.openai.com/account/api-keys )
Make your APIKey where marked and save

Why does this kind of problem occur? Does the chrom browser intelligently solve it through its own API key? Does it default to your own API key?

Just installed addon on firefox / on linux manjaro , same error, i dont have an api but i didnt see anything in the addon settings asking for one. I can access gpt fine. Then i thought id check the twitter link listed on the firefox addon page @chatgptforseach and the twitter page has been suspended for violations, i got concerned so iv uninstalled the addon. I might try it again if i can see a fix for the "Please login and pass Cloudflare check at"

@wong2 It's not working for me in Brave with the same error message either, but I disabled "Prevent sites from fingerprinting me based on my language preferences" in the shield preferences. Btw, I think it should work with that option enabled. ChatGPT itself can figure out the language by itself as well.

EDIT: Ok, I generated my API key and this worked, even when having "Prevent sites from fingerprinting me based on my language preferences" enabled, which is nice! Thanks for the great extension.

Yes, this worked for me. Ty!

In summary:

  1. You need to log in to https://chat.openai.com/chat with your account or create one
  2. then go to: https://platform.openai.com/account/api-keys and generate your key.
  3. Then copy the created key and paste it into the AI provider > OpenAI API > API KEY box that you can find at the link: chrome-extension://jgjaeacdkonaoafenlfkkkmbaopkbilf/options.html.

The above solution is correct but NOTE that:
If you set OpenAI API in your AI Provider, each time the ChatGPT response for Google search will be charged, that is, each request to OpenAI's API will be charged ≈$0.002, and we have a maximum usage cap of $18.00

Just as a reminder~😀
