It looks like the only condition under which this error is reported is if the file is too small to fingerprint. By default the source tries to read the first line to fingerprint the file (configurable via https://vector.dev/docs/reference/configuration/sources/kubernetes_logs/#fingerprint_lines). This likely indicates that the file was empty at the time that Vector tried to fingerprint it. I think the errors can safely be ignored (maybe they should just be warnings 🤔 ). |
