Question

I'm running YOLOv3 in a Docker environment. My Python version is 3.10.9, and I've installed ultralytics and ultralytics.yolo using pip and pip3. However, when I use the command python3 train.py --epochs 250 --workers 8 --device 0,1,2,3 --data /style/yolov3/data/data.yaml --img 640 --cfg /style/yolov3/models/yolov3.yaml --weights /style/yolov3/yolov3u.pt --name yoloyolo --hyp /style/yolov3/data/hyps/hyp.scratch-high.yaml, I encounter ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'ultralytics.yolo'. Even though pip list and pip3 list show that ultralytics.yolo is installed properly, why is this issue happening? Is there a solution?

Hello! It looks like there might be a bit of confusion with package names and installation. For YOLOv3 by Ultralytics, you don't need to install a package named ultralytics.yolo. Instead, you should ensure you have the yolov3 repository cloned from GitHub and all requirements installed via pip install -r requirements.txt from within the cloned yolov3 directory.

Here's a quick checklist:

  1. Ensure you've cloned the YOLOv3 repo.
  2. Navigate to the yolov3 folder in your terminal.
  3. Run pip install -r requirements.txt to install dependencies.

Please remove any installations of ultralytics.yolo as it's not part of the YOLOv3 setup. If you encounter further issues, please refer to the documentation at https://docs.ultralytics.com for detailed setup instructions. 😊

If this doesn't resolve your issue or if you have more questions, feel free to ask.
