Hi Carl, Nice post and very good use case! With a proper infrastructure in place with servers caching the content of hash-URIs, they could really make these resources permanent. I have to write this up properly at some point. Leaving the issue open for now. Cheers, |

Your work in this area just came up in discussion with Geoffrey Bilder of CrossRef in thinking about citing frequently changing content without a third party publisher; stuff such as software, blog posts, etc. Might be of interest: http://carlboettiger.info/2013/06/03/DOI-citable.html#comment-919771037
