Twitch Streams lag on any device using same local network when my phone is running Frosty

I can reproduce this issue everytime I open a chat on Frosty. On some occasions, the stream I am watching will totally freeze after I open the chat. Anyone else notice this or have any idea what I can check on my local network to resolve it? It seems like a very strange issue to me... I'm having trouble thinking how exactly an iOS app connecting to a Twitch chat can cause a bottleneck on my network specifically for that users stream..
