Problem description

If you copy text to clipboard when in termux, the keyboard hides itself.

The problem occurs when using termux-clipboard-set too.

This issue occurs in both Gboard, Samsung keyboard, Swiftkey, etc. I've tried most keyboards, this might be an issue with the way the samsung note 9 rom interacts with termux.

In other apps, the rom makes the keyboard hide for half a second, then it comes back up immediately. In Termux, once it hides, it stays hidden, until the user interacts with the screen to unhide it.

Bug is in the last official build of termux and in the latest workflow run.

termux_clipboard.mp4

Steps to reproduce the behavior.

Copying text to the keyboard when using termux on a samsung note 9 phone.

What is the expected behavior?

The keyboard should not dismiss itself.

System information

  • Termux application version: v0.118.0
  • Android OS version: Android 10
  • Device model: Samsung Note 9

Never had this issue on the latest git Termux version. Stable build from F-Droid also works properly. Tested on different devices, neither can reproduce the described problem.

Maybe specific to recent Samsung devices as old Galaxy S7 works properly with Termux.
