It would be great to have the old win 7 controll panel functionality back in the windows 10, screen resolution, customisazion network controll panel with all options (like wifi, etc..) that got removed already in win 8.

Cheers

i like this idea, we'll definitely look into it. i think it would be nice if we integrated the modules' configuration in this control panel as well - thoughts?

Many many thoughts :)
We should also look into adding a windows update client like in win 7/8.1 that gives the user a choice,
like this one: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/windows_update_minitool.html
it works by changing some registry settings (will only take on enterprise/education edition, but there are ways for the pro/home as well) for the auto update, and it uses a official windows API (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/desktop/aa387099(v=vs.85)) to download and install only selected updates.
Since the tool is not open source :( i looked into it a bit and found a sample of using that API to get drivers but i presume that should work for all types of updates: https://github.com/jstuyts/windows-update-drivers

PS: is there a new forum for the project or so, cause the registration on the classis shell forum does not work.

Lets rip out the ugliness out of windows 10 and make it a proper productive OS again :D

Cheers
David X.

Giving control of Windows Update back to the user? Colour me interested.

We don't have a forum yet, but we do have a Discord server, the link to which can be found on the Start9 website: http://start9.menu/
