Git status not showing under $HOME git repo

Hi,

My entire $HOME is a git directory, however starship doesn't seem to display the git_status under the home dir. The output of starship explain:

 Here's a breakdown of your prompt:
 "~ " (<1ms)                  -  The current working directory
 "on  home-manager " (<1ms)  -  The active branch of the repo in your current directory
 "➜ " (<1ms)                  -  A character (usually an arrow) beside where the text is
                                 entered in your terminal

However in another git repo it successfully displays it. Here is part of the starship explain output:

"[!] " (1ms)                 -  Symbol representing the state of the repo

I believe this should be just a couple lines of config but I just couldn't figure it out. Maybe it conflicts with oh-my-zsh? I'm not sure. Please help!

I'm using starship with zsh. Starship is managed via Nix home manager:
