Hi, I'm Lonnie Ezell. I've been working in the open source field for a while now, mostly centered around the CodeIgniter PHP framework. I'm currently the lead developer CodeIgniter 4 and have been the primary developer working away for the last few years to rebuild the framework from scratch.

My first entry into open source was with Bonfire, a jump start for your CodeIgniter-based applications. While I never heard a lot of feedback on it, the couple of developers I talked to about it blew me away how much they did with it. One company built 100+ sites based on the framework. Another used it as the basis for their custom hosting solution. Another person, more designer than developer, said it allowed them to fairly easily put together a site they weren't sure they'd be able to.

I'll be honest. Building and supporting tools like these takes a lot of time. While building out CI 4 alone, I've come up with 3 projects that I'd love to build, each that could potentially be an income generator for me. But I love building tools that help others out. Tools like Vulcan - a set of command line tools for CodeIgniter 4. Or Myth:Auth - a flexible auth system for CI4. Or Bonfire. Heck, even CodeIgniter itself.
