What is Start Bootstrap?

Hey there! David Miller here, creator of Start Bootstrap. When I launched Start Bootstrap in 2013, the mission was to create a library of free and open source website themes built on top of the Bootstrap framework.

Perhaps the most important decision I made when creating Start Bootstrap was to not require any sort of attribution or on site credit whenever someone used one of the themes. Taking this approach was aimed at making things as convenient as possible for anyone using these themes, which I believe contributed to the initial popularity and ongoing success of this project.

Since then, we've seen our free themes downloaded over 12,000,000 times, and Start Bootstrap remains the most popular source of free Bootstrap themes on the web.

What we're working on

Start Bootstrap has been a single owner operated project until early 2020, when a longtime friend and industry leading developer Sam Artioli joined the company as a partner. Since then we have continued the maintenance and development of our free Bootstrap themes along with a small assortment of premium products.

Why does sponsorship help?

Although we support our development efforts using revenue from limited on-site advertisements and the sale of our premium products, sponsoring Start Bootstrap will help us be able to take more time to develop and maintain more free, open source products for the community to use.
