I had the same issue. I ended up switching to https://starship.rs/. I am not affiliated in any way but they have rich configuration options for pyenv. |

The problem
The python section is not recognized, when changing to directory containing python code the prompt for the python related info is not displayed. This is only the case for python. For java and node the prompt is fine.

The prompt works fine if you create a python virtual environment.
