Hello Smokin' Guns Team,

I request for a Flatpak/Flathub repository for the Linux build. I had much success in Flatpak/Flathub compilation as well as access. Speaking of access, I can't download the files (.exe and .deb) from the website. I have to get to this host to retrieve a playable program (https://www.indiedb.com/games/smokin-guns/downloads/smokin-guns-11-os-independent-archive). I couldn't get the i386 file working. Maybe I am running the 64 Linux platform OS. I think the 64 bit application needs to get done. The smokin'-guns.org website also have improper/expired https protocol, which means the TLS needs to be setup time after time. As for irc, I suggest to use libera irc server (irc.libera.chat:6697 [TLS]). Plenty of developers for Linux at the least. Libera website is here for more information. https://libera.chat/

The developers have abandoned the game and no longer want to deal with it, so a new developer has appeared who will take care of this support for this project go to the discord https://discord.gg/hUqegqKmUx the group still needs to be finalized but this is not a problem the game is also changing its name to WESTERN 3D Come and participate in developing a new game

I think you're right @TannicArcher. I'd love to be a part of making this game awesome again (but I don't really do discord because they want me to verify my phone.)

It’s just that I really liked this game and it’s a pity that it’s really abandoned, it would have been optimized and more maps and player models, and in principle everything and the rules about graphics, you don’t have to think to stay on the Quake 3 engine, so we can simply upgrade and all that

That is very good news. A 64 bit build is in the works. I still opt for the flatpak repository because the service makes compilation of the dependencies easier. Plus, flatpak is said to be a sandbox type repository.

In terms of irc, it appears that there is already a libera irc channel. However, guests cannot chat at the moment for some reason.

For a game this good, it is quite sad news to leave the game as abandoned. However, the master/lobby server is still active? That fact makes me think otherwise. I don't mind name change. I read from the smokin' guns forums, that a new (freedom and open source) game engine was in planning. Then, the project was abandoned for some reason.

A bit off-topic in terms of game development. Sorry in advance.
Should development continue, I request for a singleplayer/multiplayer campaign consisting of several maps with same/similar/different missions like Smokin' Guns, ET: Legacy, and possibly GTA series. This next suggestion is a far stretch from implementation. Maybe, there could be a open GTA-like hub of maps (with entry/exit lines) if the server can handle hosting multiple maps simultaneously. As implied, I might be asking for more of a RPG type game, where there are NPCs and etc. Seriously, I'm asking for too much then.

I happened to find SmokinGuns-flatpak. It is said to be the test flatpak version of SmokinGuns. Of course, with recent modern software standards, a 64 bit OS is required to support the test flatpak version.
