I don't like the notification sound (desktop) when a message is received.
The desktop version of SimpleX seems to use the Windows notification functionality.
SimpleX is not displayed in the Windows settings under “Notifications & actions”, unlike other apps such as WhatsApp, Teamspeak etc.
However, you can access the SimpleX notification settings when you receive a message and then click on the 3 dots of the notification and then on
“Switch to notification settings”.
I don't know if this is a bug or not. It is too cumbersome or confusing.
However... If you deactivate the sound playback for notifications there and then receive new messages, the notification sound is played again. If you then go back to the SimpleX notification settings (see above), “Play sound when receiving a notification” is activated again.
Something is not right.
Expected Behavior
If SimpleX uses the Windows-internal notification functionality, then SimpleX should be listed in the Windows settings “Notifications & actions” just like other apps that use the Windows-internal notification functionality.
And the sound when a notification is received should also be able to be deactivated.
