Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Simple example: Let's say I have one sector on CD that is difficult to read. I can read whole disc at speed x8 and just repeat reading difficult sector hundreds or thousands of times. But if I reduce speed, the sector can be picked almost instantly.

If so can I just reduce speed of reading? Firstly it takes more time to read whole disk at slower (again). Secondly it's not always about lowering the speed. I've notice several times that choosing different speeds like x12 or x16 can help much more than x1 x2 or x4.

So for example some sectors can be only easily read with x1, some with x4, some with x12, some with x16.

Additional advantage is that I can clean/wipe disc before retrying

Describe the solution you'd like
DIC can pick old dumping process. (It's ok to require the same version DIC)

Describe alternatives you've considered
DIC could on its own adjust speed. (But probably it would be more difficult to implement.)

I think Sarami added something similar, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean - #219
