Feature Request

This website uses Google a lot as shown here:

image

To maintain user privacy, it would be beneficial to remove Google completely from the site. I understand that this would probably be a big project since the site most likely relies on Google to exist, but it would be better overall.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Perhaps only removing tracking/telemetry elements from the site.

Thanks for the suggestion but I do not plan on removing Google tracking services, as this provides valuable information to me as a developer so I can understand user behavior to improve the user experience.

As mentioned in the Privacy Policy, this data will not be shared or sold to third parties.

But there are other tracking services, which respect the user's privacy and provide the "valuable information" (Whatever that information might be) to you.
For example Umami, Counter, Matomo & Plausible.
So please take at least a look a some of those and maybe consider switching. Thanks!

Also Google Fonts can be replaced with Bunny Fonts:

The Bunny Fonts API was designed to be fully compatible with the Google Fonts [...] making the switch as easy as changing the hostname.

@MagicLike Thanks for linking some alternatives! I'll reopen this as an issue but migrating to these alternatives is not high on my priority list. The app is built with Google Firebase which integrates well with other Google services so I think it makes sense to keep it that way. That being said, your concern is totally valid, and if someone wanted to create a pull request migrating to some more privacy-focused alternative, I'm totally open to switching.

What is my priority right now for Coindrop is allowing users to add/create new payment methods rather than maintaining the list of supported payment methods.

Cheers
