How to replace the Viewer Infobox with a custom React component?

I'm trying to replace the Viewer component's readonly infobox to a custom writeable infobox. For example, I'm trying to insert a Modal from react-bootstrap to a custom function as a replacement. Where and how could I accomplish this?
