Steamwebhelper is not responding #945
Comments
steamwebhelper is a 64bits process, this should be a box64 ticket. You need to update both box86 and box64 to latest version and it should be fixed there. |
Hello, yes yes. Everything is updated, just today I collected box86 and box64. all new. |
` infernalwolf666@MiniDog:~$ steam` |
You have latest stable version of box86/box64, but you need latest unsatble version for steam to work. |
I can't get this to work? |
what do mean? did you updated both box64 & box86 |
Yes. I have a new version |
then copy/paste the log maybe to see what's wrong? |
`infernalwolf666@MiniDog:~$ steam Steam logging initialized: directory: /home/infernalwolf666/.local/share/Steam/logs XRRGetOutputInfo Workaround: initialized with override: 0 real: 0x401a0080 Steam Runtime Launch Service: starting steam-runtime-launcher-service |
stop. I'm using the release version. where can I download the newest one? can you leave a link? I have a processor arm rk3588 (orange pi 5 plus) |
I don't provide binary build directly. I guess it's possible to get some thru github CI, or you can build from sources or use some debian prebuilt deb (look at COMPILE.md for details) |
Hello, I built both Box86 and Box64 out of the master branch pulled today with the following options : Then I ran the installSteam.sh script. And finally tried to start steam, which updated itself as expected. I tried to use various options with steam like -cef-disable-gpu-compositor -cef-disable-gpu and -no-browser but none of them helped... |
Great news! It works! So all it needs is an update to the installSteam.sh script to install it, and also a little fix so that the $@ is escaped properly! |
I can also confirm this, I have Box86 and Box64 on a Pi5 and steamwebhelper started working after installing libibus-1.0-5. |
Steamwebhelper is not responding.
steam probably released a new update. I don't know what or how to fix it.
Who also?
I'm using Oran Pi 5 plus Ubuntu 24.04 operating system from Joshua Riek, kernel 6.1.
Same error on kernel 5.10
