Help re-creating AsciiEffect to use with R3F

I'm trying to refactor the original Ascii Effect example from three.js to use on R3F. However, I'm a beginner on both libraries and I have no clue from where to start. Any ideas?

Why recreate it? You can simply put three.js effects into your React tree if you use drei's wrapper for EffectComposer. Have a look at the source to see how to use it with any effect.

ok, saw the original example, at least from what i see there it has little to do with effect postprocessing, composer isn't mentioned in the code. the ascii thing is just a class.
