I noticed that Planetary shows the "active hashtags" that a user has been using, on their profile screen. In my profile's situation, I had the hashtag "Bolsonaro" on it just because once I posted something anti-Bolsonaro. Other users browsing my profile may infer that this hashtag is representative of who I am (i.e. incorrectly, pro-Bolsonaro) which is a completely different message. It may even drastically change how those users interact with me due to this misunderstanding.

I recommend that Planetary displays on the profile screen only information that the user wants to display. If you're populating hashtags to show on their profile, then allow the user to filter them, or make them into "recommended hashtags to display on your profile" which the user can then approve or reject. UPDATE: well, actually in this case this solution wouldn't work because my account isn't even a Planetary account. Anyway, don't do these displays of interest without user consent.

The intention of "active on [hashtags]" is to give more information to the user (on top of the bio, that could or couldn't be descripive) when scrolling down a list of people. With that said, you raised a good point we didn't consider before. However, if we let the user pick the list of hashtags that list wouldn't be dynamic and reflect the latest interactions unless the user updates that list frequently. How about adding a description of what that list of hashtags is, so that there is no confusion about it and people realise it is just a list of the last three hashtags that person used?

simply posting about different things make it go away. I agree there should be a better algorithm like most commonly used hashtags not most recent.
