[Feature Request] Workflow enhancement by adding the "owner" field in the added document trigger

Description

The goal here is to set the "view document" permission based on the person who is uploading.

Let's say we have 3 departement using the same instance of Paperless. (HR, Administration, and IT)

Each one would want to handle their internal documents, meanwhile, be able to share documents between the departments when needed.

Now, every department has a specific person (or group) that are allowed to upload documents. And therefore, theses documents would benefit (initially) being only accessed by the person of THAT department (depending on the uploader).

I hope i made myself clear, i think this is a good enhancement id possible.

The default case is:
The user that uploads something is owner - no one else can see it. That works. Files i uploaded are not seen by my wife. (IT/HR ;-))

And you want to automatically change the view rights to "department1" if user is part of the group department1? (so you have 3 people in IT all should be able to read IT Documents?)

For consumed files that is possible:
I utilize thjis with different consume directory to assign to different users.

If file in IT-Folder set Owner to IT USer (also setting view rights for a group here)

But i don't know if that works for "uploaded through web" files as well - short test upload does not seem to trigger the "consumation" workflow (sure because i don't use the folder)

Exactly, even if I didn't try it, but i think doing it through "consume directory" is feasible. However, the best usecase for me would be to be able specifying this workflow for the "upload through web" files.

The administraor of the system would specify the needed "view permissions" workflows, depending on the uploader.

I´m dealing with the same problem: every of my family member should be able to upload files via web and app. But I want to overrule the default setting, that owner of thas document is only current user. For example, I´d like to add viewing permissions also for a group of all family members.
I think, the best way would be to add the possibility for filering on USER when selecting "API-Upload" as source, like you can filter on filepath when source was the consumption folder.

The docs try to explain this a bit, but I realize its a little confusing. If youre talking about a 'consumption started' trigger, there is no owner information at that point, so a filter couldnt be added for this, it could be for added / updated.

Hi @shamoon, thank you for that explaination. Do you see any other possibility to react on who has uploaded the file? Would it be possible to have a filter on (already setted) owner in added/updated event, like "has tags" something like "has owner"?

Yes, I was trying to say it would be possible for the other trigger types

+1 to this, this would be great - we have a committee with individuals who represent different departments. Each individual has their owner user account and then is assigned to two groups - one for their department, and then another as the year they're on the committee. What would be great is if when a user belonging to a certain group uploads a document through the web UI, it adds that group + their committee year as view/edit groups
