New Version aviable

Hi, i use Paperless via Docker-Compose (running on my Synology Nas). There is a notification on the Web-Inferface, that there is an update available. I have currently version: 1.16.5 and it says there is a newer one 1.17.4.
I checked my Docker Installation and there is no update, maybe i have the wrong image: i use: ghcr.io/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx
is this correct ? what is this ghcr.io.

Hi,
ghcr.io is the GitHub container registry. Did you create your instance using docker compose? Maybe you need to update the version number in your docker-compose.yml.

Thank you for the fast answer, and yes i used docker-compose, here the relevant part of the file:

webserver: container_name: paperless image: ghcr.io/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx:latest

There is latest, so it should update or not ?
maybe the docker-image is not yet updated, only the source ?

Could you try docker image ls?

The docker image on the registry is up to date, I am using the one from ghcr.io too. You could try docker pull paperless-ngx:latest or in your project directory docker compose pull to pull the updated version. I think docker does not re-pull the image when recreating the stack when using the :latest tag.

That is weird because the latest image you've got on your system is 2 months old... Although the tag seems right and everything. If the proposed docker compose pull isn't working either, I don't really no what the issue is here.

i have changed the entry for the Image to paperlessngx/paperless-ngx and now it is working, i used ghcr.io/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx, where no update was available. i now have: Paperless-ngx 1.17.4 and no complain about a newer version.

docker image ls now shows:
paperlessngx/paperless-ngx latest c31de6cc600f 3 weeks ago 1.4GB

ghcr.io/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx Will use the GitHub container registry, paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx will use docker hub, there’s not much difference, for now
