the ~/.jrommanager/cache directory must be emptied to remove those diskscan caches, but this considerably slow down the process, this may be due to a modification date not (yet) updated problem on archive or something similar...

For me it's not that much of a problem to completely delete cache/ as a temporary workaround until you can fix the bug. ;) A full M. A. M. E. 0.236 romset (roms (zip)+samples (zip)+CHDs (folders)) scan takes only 3 minutes. Nevertheless I can always load the settings of the suitable profile! ;)

I'm using ext4 on latest ArchLinux.

fuse.mergerfs over ext4 on Debian 11 for me
