[BUG] blogDir param not working

I have checked all the prerequisites below and I'm yet experiencing a problem

• Read the README.md
• Have the extended version of Hugo installed
• Used the exampleSite's hugo.toml as a reference
• If and when requested, I'll link my repo to make it easier to debug.

Describe the bug
Setting blogDir in params.toml and [params] blogDir in hugo.toml to something else than "blog" does not work.
When done so, visiting the newly set blogDir url shows a blank page.

This error is reproducable using the exampleProject.
