First, thank you in advance for any assistance with this!
Is there an example of a vehicle without a network card in veins? Or, has someone done this successfully, if so how?
My need is similar to this post on stackoverflow because some of my vehicles have nics (like the Traci example) and some of them do not (as they communicate through an oracle).
So far, I have successfully simulated separate vehicles w/ separate applications. So, I have two types of vehicles in my sim with RSUs using 80211p.
But, when I to delete the 80211p nic from my NonNicCar.ned, it causes veins to seg faults. The segfault occurs in DemoBaseApplLayer::initialize(stage);
For now, I'm just ignoring the messages received by the NonNicCar. But, I suspect our simulation results would be more accurate & it would run faster if I could succesfully and correctly remove the nic from NonNicCar types. I think my connections may be the source of my woes. But, I'm a newb to this.
My NonNicCar.ned file where I attempted to remove the nic from Car.ned is below.
