Getting an odd build error when upgrading from nuxt 3.8

Hi all,

I have been working on a somewhat large nuxt project for a while that was shelved temporarily back in January for other priorities. It is a pnpm monorepo with 5 user portals and a shared layer. Nothing too crazy, and before it was put aside for a few months, I had zero issues with anything.

Fast forward to last week and we were able to start back in on it. Unfortunately, when I attempt to update to the latest version of nuxt (or even to just 3.9) I get the following error when trying to run the nuxt dev command:

Any ideas on what might be the cause here?

Seems like your h3 is vastly outdated. Make sure to update your peer deps too

Ok, turns out it was caused by a variable in my .env file: NUXT_APP. If I delete it or change it to NUXT_APP_NAME I can update and build with no issues.

Does it make sense that NUXT_APP would break builds like this?

yes, that makes sense as app is a reserved keyword:
