My UPS is on a Synology NAS, I added my IP to permitted devices and am able to connect, but the load wattage graph always shows 0, all others seem to be working normally. Even after adjusting the settings for North American grid Voltage and frequency I'm getting 0% and 0 W on UPS load. My UPS is APC and I installed WinNUT on Windows 11 Pro.

This is likely related to #120 . The Load display is showing 0 most likely because WinNUT could not detect a supported method for calculating the load from your UPS. Please attach the latest log with a session of you connecting to your UPS, and also please upload the output from the variables list (in the Files menu.)

FINAL EDIT: I am an absolute pancake. Everything is working fine. Apparently this UPS simply doesn't register loads below 5% of capacity. Everything seems to work with a bigger load applied.

@gbakeman I have the same issue, APC Back-UPS BX2200MI (Nov 23) connected through a Synology (DSM 6.2) NAS.

I would like to note that this is a replacement UPS, I was previously using a few years older version of the APC Back-UPS BX750MI (mid-19) which battery just died, prompting this replacement. WinNUT 2.0 was working perfectly with that UPS on this same unit. Just trying to clarify nothing in the setup changed aside from switching out the UPS, and it used to work.

I have the 0%/0W load issue, immediately since connecting the new NAS. I just updated WinNUT to Pre-Release v2.3.8834, the problem persists.

I feel the battery voltage may be wrong as well, shouldn't it be 12V ? I honestly don't know. Additionally, it has been stuck on 97% charge, which could be UPS self-protection or a wrong reading, by now it should be fully charged. EDIT: both these things are a non-issue, voltage is correct, so is charge %

@Chainfire Sorry for taking awhile to get back to you, and glad you were able to get things working! ☺️ I changed the way WinNUT reports missing variables recently which I think took a lot of people by surprise, because previously WinNUT was reporting that everything was fine and present. Let us know if there's any other issues.

It sounds like I just haven't accounted for .power and .realpower vars yet. Do you know which one is actually the amount of power your UPS is consuming?

I took a look at the NUT (Network UPS Tools) driver source code.

.power is apparent power.
.realpower is active power.

So .realpower is actually the amount of power my UPS is consuming.

@MaxMadcc I made a new issue for your UPS here (#150) since I'm not sure if OP is experiencing the exact same problem as you. Please go ahead and follow that issue. I'm not sure if you're already on it, but I'll make a branch and start working on a fix since I think it should be fairly easy.

Same prob on a EATON ELLIPSE ECO 1200, hooked to an ASUSTOR NAS model AS-302T.

badly reported values :

  • UPS charge : 18% / 0W (obviously not) ;
  • Battery voltage : 6V (should be 12V) ;
  • Entry voltage : 200V (should be 220/230V) ;

All these values were correct on old WinNUT version (latest from the previous repo)

Hi @ElGuillermo ,

Please see #136. Indeed, your NUT server isn't providing a battery voltage or input voltage - yours is only displaying output information in that regard. However, I'm not exactly sure why your UPS load isn't working. Please open a new discussion here with the info you've already provided, along with the WinNUT log file attached. Make sure your log level is set to Debug before doing so. Thank you for providing this info so far.
