@wesleytodd and others opened up a great issue during collab summit last week. discussion coalesced around at least two discrete pieces of work.

this ticket would create a page somewhere that acknowledges maintainers and opens pathways for folks to directly support them and their work

this might require a lot of exploration and setting up of new things. some ideas:

  • GH Sponsors of individuals
    • who? how? etc
  • OpenCollective??? itself a large effort

Maybe this page builds directly off of #6625 - but since that one has a clearer scope, I suggest it go first

conversation is now occurring in nodejs/TSC#1553

no action should occur here until that is resolved
