The default sentence takes about 67secs here while it takes about 2.6s with inference.py. Please check.

It took around 7 secs with the fixed code in #3 in my case (CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz, and TensorFlow 2.5.0-dev20201205). I'll further investigate the performance and update this issue. Thanks :)
